Johns Hopkins Curriculum

What it is: An online module based primary care curriculum that highlights important topics in a user friendly and interactive format.
Ideal Audience: All residents as part of the primary care curriculum. This could also be useful to go over topics with medical students.
Why it is great: The Johns Hopkins Curriculum is interactive! Each module starts with a brief quiz to assess your knowledge. It then breaks down the topic into sections, each of which is introduced by a question and then explained with primary literature references and helpful tables included. Then wrap it up with one more quiz to see what you have learned. It is a great resource as a new resident and as a developing resident: each module teaches you essential information that you will certainly use in your primary care clinics and some of the information will also be able to be translated to other blocks.
How to access it: You will need to ask Monick for our specific access code for learners when creating an account! To access the curriculum go to https://www.peaconline.org. Then choose "Pediatrics Ambulatory Care Curriculum" and select University of Massachusetts from the program list. Create a new account with correct UMass code (ask chiefs or Monick for the current, correct one; it should also have been e-mailed to you).
How much time to budget for this: Each topic takes about 15-20 minutes. See this link to see which topics we expect you to do and when!
Other thoughts/comments/advice: Try to update your primary care note templates as you go. That way you can practice what you have learned in clinic. Please note, we strongly recommend you complete assigned topics during your various rotations as noted above in the google link!!! This curriculum is a required part of residency.
Send the chiefs any specific feedback you might have, or you can fill out anonymous feedback with the form below. Thanks!
